After applying iron oxide yellow on the surface of these articles, the colour and lustre are not easy to retreat.

In recent years, by changing the preparation process of ferric oxide yellow crystal, the Na2CO3 part is used instead of the conventional NaOH solution to precipitate ferrous sulfate and air oxidation to prepare the crystal seed, and a small amount of Zn2+ salt is added to the crystal structure regulator to change the morphology of its nucleation particles and achieve low water absorption and high density properties. The iron oxide yellow is transformed into a low absorption heavy iron oxide yellow pigment preparation process.

The experts also studied a super fine process of making iron oxide yellow, first using wet sulphate oxidation to produce iron oxide yellow, and then forming super fine iron oxide yellow by two steps of rough comminution and whirlwind mill. The number of iron oxide yellow after rough comminution is 8-12 orders; its characteristics lie in the rotational speed of the whirlwind mill. For 2000 turns / points, the raw material runs at a speed of 120-130 meters per second, and the weight percentage of the grinding aids in the raw material is 0.5% - 5% when the whirlmill is running at high speed. This process not only makes the HEGMAN fineness of ferric oxide yellow super high color paste, but also improves the covering power and coloring power of ferric oxide yellow.
